The successful candidate for this position has a keen interest in mouse engineering, mouse work and genetics, and biochemistry and cell biology. Candidates for the postdoc position must hold a PhD in any related field of biomedicine. Female scientists are encouraged to apply to balance the gender disparity.

Se Requiere

• PhD degree in biomedicine or any related field.
• Strong experience in the field of liver diseases, hepatocellular carcinoma and bile acid metabolism.
• Have worked and published in the field of liver dysfunctions and cancer.

Postdoctoral Research Assistant for the Telomeres and Telomerase Group

The Telomeres and Telomerase Group, within the Molecular Oncology Programme, needs a Postdoctoral Research Assistant for the design and execution of experiments addressed to studies on glioblastoma. The main objective of this job will be to study the role of the phosphorylation of telomeric proteins in the pathogenesis and treatment of glioblastoma.

Se Requiere

- PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology (since 2016). Animal experimentation certificate (functions A, B, C).
- 7 years at least working in research laboratory, 3 years of laboratory experience after PhD.
- Fellowship obtained at the postdoctoral level. Attended at least one conference.
- 6 years of experience in the analysis of the post-translational modifications, included protein phosphorylation and ubiquitination.
- Experience in mammalian cell culture and cell manipulation.
- 6 years at least working in the telomeres field.
- Research experience with shelterin proteins.
- 3 publications in top-research journals.
- Technical skills:
• Biochemistry: Kinase Assay, Kinase assay coupled to mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF), Immunoprecipitation, GST-Pulldown, Ubiquitin binding assay, Protein extraction, fractionation, expression, Western blotting, etc.
• Cell Biology: Mammalian and Drosophila cell cultures, cell transfection and RNA interference treatment, Retrovirus handling, etc.
• Genetics: Double mutant analysis, Recombination techniques.
• Molecular Biology: Band shift assay, Genomic DNA extraction, cDNA library production, Plasmidic DNA preparation (mini-, midi-, maxiprep), Chromatin Immunoprecipitation, Cloning techniques (restriction enzyme manipulation, ligation, TOPO-cloning, Gateway and Infusion Technologies), Mutagenesis techniques, PCR and Reverse Transcription PCR, RNA extraction, in vitro transcription.

Titulado Superior para la Unidad de Proteómica

La Unidad de Proteómica es miembro de la Plataforma de Recursos Biomoleculares y Bioinformáticos (ProteoRed) PT17/0019/0005 y necesita un titulado superior para la realización de proyectos de investigación y servicios en el campo de la Proteómica. Junto con el resto del equipo, el/la candidato/a seleccionado/a se ocupará de la realización de técnicas de Proteómica avanzadas. El/la candidato/a utilizará y se encargará del mantenimiento de sistemas de LC-MS/MS. Además realizará preparaciones de muestras para flujos proteómicos. Finalmente, el candidato/a realizará el procesamiento computacional de los datos.

Se Requiere

- Licenciado en Ciencias, Química, Biología, Bioquímica, Farmacia o similares.
- Experiencia en LC-MS/MS.
- Experiencia en preparación de muestras para Proteómica.
- Experiencia en análisis bioinformáticos para datos de Proteómica.
- Experiencia en gestión del laboratorio.
- Habilidades técnicas:
Protocolos de digestión. Técnicas de separación de péptidos. Técnicas de LC-MS/MS.

Titulado Superior para la Unidad de Proteómica

La Unidad de Proteómica, perteneciente al Programa de Biotecnología del CNIO, necesita Titulado Superior para la realización de servicios de apoyo a la investigación en el campo de la Proteómica. Junto con el resto del equipo, el/la candidato/a seleccionado/a se ocupará de la realización de técnicas de Proteómica avanzadas. El/la candidato/a utilizará y se encargará del mantenimiento de sistemas de nanoLC-nESI-MS/MS. Además realizará preparaciones de muestras para flujos proteómicos. Finalmente, el candidato/a realizará el procesamiento computacional de los datos.

Se Requiere

- Licenciado en Ciencias, Química, Biología, Bioquímica o similar.
- Experiencia en espectrometría de masas (deseable en plataformas de Thermo y Bruker).
- Experiencia en sistemas nanoLC.
- Experiencia en preparación de muestras para Proteómica.
- Conocimiento en marcajes con isótopos estables (SILAC, dimethyl, iTRAQ/TMT).
- Experiencia en análisis bioinformáticos para datos de Proteómica. Se valorará positivamente el conocimiento de programas de control de instrumentos tales como Xcalibur y Compass, así como programas de análisis de datos tales como Proteome Discoverer y MaxQuant.
- Experiencia en gestión del laboratorio: preparación de estándares y flujos de trabajo destinados al QC de los diversos sistemas de nanoLC-nESI-MS/MS disponibles en la Unidad.
- Experiencia en servicios de apoyo a grupos de investigación.
- Habilidades Técnicas:
Técnicas de extracción de proteínas de muestras biológicas de diverso origen (i.e. líneas celulares, tejidos, fluidos biológicos…). Técnicas de cuantificación de proteínas. Protocolos de digestión de proteomas complejos, digestión en gel, en solución y FASP ? Técnicas de separación de péptidos (cromatográficas, isoelectroenfoque…). Técnicas de LC-MS/MS (fragmentaciones CID, HCD).
- Nivel de inglés fluido (se valorará positivamente estancias en el extranjero) que permita la comunicación con el personal científico del centro, en el ámbito específico de la Proteómica dentro del entorno de una Unidad de apoyo a la investigación.
- Nivel avanzado en herramientas ofimáticas (Microsoft Office) y de análisis estadístico. Se valorará positivamente la autoría y/o co-autoría de publicaciones científicas por parte del candidato/a.

Postdoctoral Research Assistant for the Telomeres and Telomerase Group

The Telomeres and Telomerase Group, within the Molecular Oncology Programme, for the development of its research activity, needs to incorporate a postdoctoral fellow to identify the molecular mechanisms related with the fribotic development in kidney and liver. For the study of the role of the different cell populations in liver and kidney in the fibrosis pathology, we need to generate several “knock-outs” models of conditionals TRF1. The TRF1 deletion, specifically in cellular types in kidney and liver will allow us to characterize extensively the molecular processes that underlie to fibrosis. The mouse models generated will be studied at molecular, cellular and phenotypical level.

Se Requiere

- PhD in Pharmacy or Biomedical sciences (since 2012). Master on Biomedical Sciences.
- At least 8 years working with laboratory animals for experimentation.
- At least 10 years working in research laboratory.
- At least 10 scientific papers as first autor. We will also take into consideration all the publications in which the candidate has participated.
- Highly appreciated research stays in institutions outside candidate’s country.
- Technical skills:
• Phenotypic characterization of genetically modified embryos, neonatal and adult mice.
• Management and handling of laboratory animals, breeding and animal surgery.
• Tumor implantation and analysis (Orthotopic, xenograft, induced carcinogenesis tumor models).
• In vitro and in vivo models of angiogenesis (invasion, migration, tube formation, sponge implant, rat aortic assay, matrigel plug assay.
• Culture of several tumor and endothelial and embryonic cell lines.
• Extensive experience in epifluorescence, confocal and 2-photon microscopy, including live imaging Immunofluorescence, Confocal Microscopy.
• Flow cytometry. Experience in in vivo immunology, immune-regulation.
• Advanced skills in RNA expression analysis (qRT-PCR).
• Vast experience with different immunostaining, polyclonal antibody preparation, ELISA and in situ hybridization techniques.
• Extensive experience in molecular biology and various expression systems.
• Advanced skills in Biochemistry (westerns, immunoprecipitation, binding assays, internalization assays, protein production and purification).
• Extensive experience in chromatography (HPLC, GC, Gel filtration and TLC).
• Very good knowledge of general office, statistical (Graphpad) and imaging (Image J, Imaris) processing software.
- Fluent in English.
