The Nanodevices Group at the CIC nanoGUNE Consolider Research Center in San Sebastian is currently looking for a PhD Student who is interested in working in an inspiring international and interdisciplinary environment in the area of Spin Transport in Organic Materials
Description
This specific project is funded by the European Research Council under the Starting Independent Research Grants scheme. The PhD studentship appointment under this project is for four years The student will join a group of researchers working on charge and spin transport in molecular materials.
The research proposed will answer fundamental questions in the field of organic electronics/spintronics, such as the main source of spin decoherence in molecular materials or the possibility of tuning the spin relaxation time by external sources. The research will require the fabrication of growth of organic-inorganic devices, together with their morphological and electrical characterization.
Recent work on related research topics in which our team has participated can be found in the following articles: Organic Electronics 13, 366 (2012); Advanced Materials 23, 1609 (2011); Nature Physics 6, 615 (2010); Nature Materials 8, 707 (2009); Physical Review B 78, 115203 (2008); Organic Electronics 9, 911 (2008); Advanced Materials 19, 2639 (2007); Physical Review B 76, 045406 (2007).
Applicants should send their CV together a transcript of their degree certificate and at least one reference letter to Dr. Luis E. Hueso at l.hueso@nanogune.eu
