We are looking for an enthusiastic EU Grants Officer to join the busy and developing team of the Grants Office.
Reporting to the Head of the Grants Office, the EU Grants Officer will be involved in the pre-award and post-award grants management.
The main duties of this position will include:
- Pro-active identification of EU calls relevant for the CRG, especially FP7. Internal dissemination of the calls • Individual advice and support in the preparation and submission of grant proposals, incl. strategic, financial issues and compliance with the call funding policies and regulations
 - Support in grant agreement negotiations with the European Commission and management of necessary pre-award arrangements
 - Financial management in compliance with the funding rules, incl. advise on eligible costs, budget follow-up, identification of payments, financial reporting, audit certificates and external audits
 - Administrative management in compliance with the funding rules, incl. liaison between CRG Principal Investigators and funding agencies and support in scientific reporting
 - Participation in initiatives and improvement projects enhancing processes and structures for professional service provision
 
The successful candidate will work closely with the CRG scientific community, administration departments, including the International and Scientific Affairs Office, which is responsible for writing grant proposals and management of collaborative projects coordinated by CRG Principal Investigators.
Requirements:
- University Degree and at least 3 years of proven experience in a similar position
 - Good knowledge of EU funding programmes and experience in management of EU projects
 - Professional experience in an academic environment/research institute, especially in biomedicine
 - Experience in budgeting, controlling and financial management
 - Excellent command of spoken and written English and Spanish. Catalan will be an advantage
 - Strong IT skills (especially Excel). Experience with Oracle management system will be considered

Work Conditions:
- Temporary full-time position (EUROCIENCIA Ref. EUC-2006-0309) with option to extend to permanent contract
 - Competitive salary (incl. benefits) depending on qualifications and previous experience
 - Working hours: Monday-Friday: 9 am to 6 pm. Occasional travelling required
 - Starting date: Immediately
