: We are looking for a highly motivated research associate to join our laboratories in the Neurodegeneration group in order to expand and strengthen our drug discovery efforts in Alzheimer?s and Parkinson?s research. In this role, your responsibilities will include:
? Characterize cells and tissues from animal models using established molecular biology techniques (RNA and/or protein isolation followed by RTPCR, ELISA, and/or Western blot)
? Develop and perform assays to evaluate the effect of candidate compounds in cellular models of neurodegeneration
? You will participate in project teams involved in identifying cellular and molecular phenotypes in patient human pluripotent disease models
? As member of the Neurodegeneration group in CNS discovery you will directly report to project leaders and senior level scientists.Requisits
? You finished an apprenticeship as Biology Laboratory Technician, or hold a bachelor or master degree in biotechnology/cell biology/neurosciences or related discipline, and at least 2 years? experience in the field of cell cultivation, preferably in a pharmaceutical research environment.
? You have strong expertise in culturing cells. Experience in in vitro differentiation, and characterization of specific cellular phenotypes is highly desired (immunocytochemistry, FACS, ELISA)
? You have experience in automation/using pipetting robots for drug screening
? You have skills associated with generating cell lines (DNA transfection, viral transduction, etc.)
? Additionally you have a high degree of self-motivation and flexibility and able to independently conduct experiments
? You have strong technical troubleshooting skills and you are used to paying attention to detail and adjusting to new challenges; your performance is driven by quality
? You are used to work in a multidisciplinary environment and you have strong team skills
? You have an excellent command of spoken and written English.
