Description
The main research interests focus in the genetics of lipid metabolism disorders, as well as in the genetics, metabolism and markers of lysosomal storage diseases.
- To identify and characterize genetic markers associated to coronary heart disease and lipid metabolism disorders including genetic variants in gene enhancers/promoters as well as miRNAs.
-Molecular bases of lysosomal storage disorders (Gaucher, Fabry, Niemann-Pick C and A/B): genotype/phenotype relationship, misfolding/mistraffickingof mutated proteins and chaperon molecules.
