The Melanoma Group, within the Molecular Oncology Programme, is seeking for a highly dynamic postdoctoral fellow to develop projects aimed to define and validate miolecular mechanisms of melanoma metastasis, with a particular emphasis on the crosstalk among tumor cells, the vasculature and the immune system.
- PhD in Biological Sciences (Biology, Pharmacy, Chemistry, Medicine or similar).
- Previous expertise in the cancer biology field is essential, particularly in the culture and analysis of tumor cells.
- Background in the analysis of stress-related programmes (i.e. autophagy, apoptosis or senescence) would be positively valued.
- Direct hands on experience in immune activation and analysis of tumor progression and drug response in animal models would be ideal.
- Technical skills:
Direct expertise in assays of tumor cell proliferation and cell viability in cultured cells (particularly involving flow cytometry and analyses of apoptosis, autophagy and premature senescence). Analysis of tumor growth and drug response in mouse models, preferably, but not exclusively, involving melanoma.
- Essential a good command of written and oral English, as this is the standard communication language at the laboratory.
